Learning is Fun!

Miss Chamblee’s class has been having a blast this year!  They have learned so much!  They recently learned all about Thanksgiving.  Here they are pretending to be pilgrims on the Mayflower.  They decided it wouldn’t be very fun to be on the Mayflower; check out those faces!

Here they are sharing things they learned with their friends in the “Wagon Wheel” game!  It’s such a fun game; they didn’t even realize they were learning from one another.

They have also been learning numbers and number words!  Here are some friends playing a game, matching numbers with number words.

Miss Chamblee and Mrs. Mosley teamed up to fight bullies!

Christmas Activities

Here you can see Mrs. Holcomb’s class is busy gearing up for the Christmas holidays. They spend several weeks on various Christmas themes and this year Mrs. Holcomb kicked off the holiday season with Santa Claus. They made a TLC Santa, wrote about what they would do if Santa got stuck in their chimney AND they had some fun making their own Santa faces. Check out these busy little elves!
Happy Holidays from Mrs. Holcomb’s Class!

Perfect Attendance

For our last nine weeks we put all of the names that had perfect attendance in a hat and drew a name. Mr. Todd Lunsford from State Farm Insurance helped sponsor this event by donating a bicycle to the student who's name was drawn.  Thank you to Mr. Lunsford!

Guadalupe Bravo won a bicycle!

She had to be at school everyday and have perfect attendance.  We had a bicycle parade.  Guadalupe got to ride up and down the hall to show all of her friends her new bicycle.  It was so much fun!!!!!!

Thanksgiving Fun!

Mrs. Henderson’s boys and girls have been learning all about Thanksgiving. During center time, the children completed Pilgrim and Indian jobs so that they could compare and contrast how their lives were different. Some of the things the boys and girls did were sew, stuff mattresses, pick berries, carry water buckets on their shoulders, fish, and plant corn. They realized that it was much more difficult to be a Pilgrim or Indian. The children got to turkey bowl for math to help learn how to add numbers together. They also learned about homes and how they are built. They read the Three Little Pigs to go along with the theme. The children made the three pigs houses at the end of the unit.  Wow, just look at the fun and they learned so much!!!!
