This week in Mrs. Marsh's class we have been learning about the letter "Rr" and about Reindeer. We also read about the most famous reindeer, "Rudolph". We made magic reindeer food to put in our yards on Christmas Eve and made reindeer ornaments to hang on our class Christmas tree.

We had a blast at out Grand-Open House! At each station children received a punch for their boat and at the end of the night, boats went into the bin for a drawing. Winners were drawn and the reward: Principal for a day, Librarian for a Day and even Music Teacher for a day.
Miss J. Chamblee's class has been having so much fun! We've learned all about fall, apples, spiders, and pumpkins. We also got to go to the Fine Arts Center to watch the Food Play and learn about eating healthy and staying fit. We are having so much fun in kindergarten!

BSLK participated in Jumpstart's Read for the Record on October 3rd. All 470 kindergarteners joined millions of people across the United States in reading Otis by Loren Long. Our students enjoyed listening to the story while sitting under the tree with “Otis.” Otis is an old red tractor who befriends a baby calf. It’s a heartwarming story of friendship. The students also jumped hay bales and played ring around the rosie…just like Otis does in the story! Jumpstart's mission is to work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.
Bulletin Board compliments of Monica Hill. Ms. Monica is amazing with bulletin board ideas, this is one of three of her creations currently decorating our hallways.

After a week of campus cleanup and finishing a brief introduction to the alphabet Mrs. A. Brown's class enjoyed a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom party. Children had a lot of fun popping balloons to find mystery letters. The students then decorated the found letters with items that shared the initial sound.
