Read for the Record

BSLK participated in Jumpstart's Read for the Record on October 3^rd.  All 470 kindergarteners joined millions of people across the United States in reading Otis by Loren Long.  Our students enjoyed listening to the story while sitting under the tree with “Otis.”  Otis is an old red tractor who befriends a baby calf.  It’s a heartwarming story of friendship.  The students also jumped hay bales and played ring around the rosie…just like Otis does in the story!  Jumpstart's mission is to work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.
