Mrs. Mosley's Class
Mrs. Mosley's class had a lot of fun learning about insects this week!! They worked together to make up their own insect. It's called the Flinger Stinger!! With six legs and eight wings... it's the fastest insect around!! By the way, watch out for its stinger!! Ahhh!! The students also wrote about their favorite insect!!! They also had a blast dressing up and reading Dr. Seuss books.
A Special Guest from Switzerland
In December, Mrs. Henderson
and Mrs. Maddox’s kindergarten classes studied Christmas Traditions around the
world. The classes were able to FaceTime with Tabea Hess from Switzerland.
Tabea had been in Albertville as an exchange student during the 2015-2016
school year and was excited to share her Christmas Traditions and answer
questions from the two classes. As the classes FaceTimed with Tabea, she was
able to show the students where she lived, how her house looked, talk about her
school, and she shared about her family’s Christmas traditions. She had also
given Mrs. Henderson a Swiss Christmas cookie recipe and the children were able
to sample the cookies that Tabea has as a part of her Christmas tradition. On February 9th, Tabea surprised Mrs.
Henderson and Mrs. Maddox’s classes when she came to Big Spring
Lake and shared a few hours with their students. She told the story of Little Red Riding Hood in Swiss German and spent time with both classes. Tabea
also brought miniature Swiss chocolate bars from Switzerland for the children.
Each bar had a picture of a place in Switzerland. The students were very
excited to share a day with Tabea!
